World Mental Health Day: 'Living with Schizophrenia'

tepat setahun yang lalu wisuda sarjana

I just realized about schizophrenia. Me, my family, and my friends never talk about schizophrenia. A few years ago i feel that symptoms.

"Schizophrenia is not a 'split personality', says Dr Sheri Jacobson, clinical director at Harley Therapy

"A schizophrenic has one personality, it's their perception of their world that splits."

After through the symptoms, everyone try to hide what happened. My consultant never explain about the symptoms. During recovery, i have to eat the medicines and now i hate to eat any medicines! depends by the condition. I just have to sleep well and face the reality, this is what my mom said. Now i know that my parents don't know about this symptoms. Schizophrenia is unfamiliar symptoms.

Every year, I get a routine medical check-up because it is special service of the company where my father worked for his member of family. During the medical check-up, when the doctor asked about my medical history, my mom and sister just don't know what they want to say about my symptoms over a years ago. Then i just said "a kind of mental syndrome, doctor". After that, the doctor will asked me again about "do you hallucinate?" and i just say yes. It makes me want to know the truth after three times in a three year i got that routine medical check-up.

"Many people living with the condition will not receive a formal diagnosis."

Year by year i want to know about what happened with me, i doubt to ask some of my friends about this symptoms, because this is unusual symptoms. Just browsing, searching, try to get the information about this symptoms on internet and i heard about one of Indonesian Artist with her bipolar disorder. I don't think that i have similar case with this Indonesian Artist, so i forget about her. Finally today, when i'm watching television, the information is about schizophrenia. The newscaster explain a little bit about this symptoms that attract me to know more about schizophrenia.

Today is World Mental Health Day, this is the right moment to realize that everyone still live with schizophrenia. They can joint the community, do something together, and also pursue they dreams. Any negative thinking of schizophrenia should be change. Surprisingly, people with schizophrenia or other severe mental illnesses, the average die 20 years earlier than the general population with most of the diseases that can be prevented (Huffingtonpost).

I just can't believe it
I'm still guess it
